Primary Functions

With limited supervision, is responsible for one or more inventory control and reconciliation tasks including returns, cycle counts, invoice, receiving, non-stock, open order, open transfer discrepancies and exception reports. Responsible for error reconciliation, freight claims and repair orders. Identify internal and external issues, develop and implement problem resolution processes and procedures specific to individual situations. Regularly collect and disseminate information and data for problem identification and resolution with internal and external customers and vendors; facilitate reconciliation and problem solving with multiple internal departments, freight companies and vendors.

 

This position has overall responsibility for inventory accuracy, location and business system inventory integrity within Warehouse Management System and SX Business System.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze, reconcile and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting and reconciliation in the SX Business System. Reconcile physical inventory in Warehouse Management System (WMS); identify discrepancies, research and resolve discrepancies and/or escalate high value issues to management. 
  • Identify, investigate and resolve receiving discrepancies from vendors and customer purchase orders. Communicate and coordinate complete resolution with internal and external customers. Correct internal receiving and shipping errors in system following established process.
  • Run and review open order reports; identify, research and resolve any open order or transfer issues for both internal and external customers. Communicate and coordinate complete resolution with internal and external customers. Reconcile open order discrepancies in WMS and SX.
  • Run and review unavailable inventory report. Facilitate resolution of outstanding inventory issues with defective or returned product. Run and review non-stock report; communicate information to internal personnel to identification and implement appropriate return process.
  • Receive and process product returns and repairs requests from internal personnel. Research stock status, restocking/return/repair charge, obtain vendor return/shipping authorization, and coordinate carrier pick-up and return; Complete return/repair authorization and documentation, enter and document return/repair charges, restocking and credit charges per established procedures. Process in WMS and SX systems per established procedures. 
  • Assist with scheduling and prioritization of WMS queue. Review all orders, returns, repairs, etc., identify priorities and schedule workload to meet internal and external customer expectations. 
  • May be required to perform responsibilities of Distribution Support and Distribution Sr., as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; Associate degree preferred. 3-5 years of experience in distribution, inventory control, customer service or related field. Problem solving experience and skills, strong organization and teamwork skills and experience preferred. High volume, high accuracy data entry experience preferred. Ability to identify process/procedure and product variances. 
  • Ability to accurately transcribe numbers and letters information from black and white paper and computer display. Ability to decipher verbal information and instructions in person, via telephone and electronic media. Ability to communicate information in-person, via telephone and electronic media. 
  • Ability to communicate instructions, recommendations, negotiate and provide instructions verbally and in writing. Ability to plan and prioritize tasks of this position. Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities in a fast a paced environment
  • Ability to use business system and warehouse management system to retrieve and update information. Data entry and/or exp. with computerized inventory/business system preferred and ability to interpret instructions from handheld computer screen. 
  • Ability to complete mathematical measurements using measuring tapes/sticks and scales. Complete mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. 
  • Ability to operate, be certified or become certified to operate Pallet Jack, Forklift, Order Picker/Puller, Walkie Ryder, fork truck, hand truck and other material handling equipment required. Must become and maintain knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations relating to equipment and warehouse safety. Required certifications must be maintained to continue to be qualified for these positions.
