Warehouse Support

Primary Functions

This position will be responsible for both warehouse duties and driver responsibilities.  Receiving, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, inspection, stocking, loading and unloading product; package, prepare for shipment and load material and finished goods for shipment.  Verify proper item and quantity of product pull customer order and maintain inventory and customer order/shipment records in Horizon business system and stock parts into inventory locations.  Identify shipping methods; prepare shipping documentation, prepare/package items, and load/unload trucks/carrier.  


Operate vehicle i.e. delivery van and/or truck up to 5-ton capacity for pick-up, delivery, and transport of material or product between facilities and to/from customer locations.   May include loading, securing and unloading of product and route planning and adjustments to ensure timely delivery of product to several customer sites on one route and within customer receiving timeframes.    Perform a variety of clerical responsibilities including maintaining and updating written customer and product and delivery records, files and documentation and input and retrieval of customer and product information in computerized business system. 


Maintain inventory count accuracy and location integrity within Horizon warehouse.  Scan and replenish customer stock; assist with inventory physical movement and organization, as required, in customer locations.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify proper item and quantity of product pull customer order and maintain inventory.  Retrieve inventory, move material and load transportation vehicles.
  • Maintain inventory and shipping records.  Unload vehicles; check merchandise for damage; Prepare orders for carrier service by picking, packing and labeling merchandise and arrange pickup.
  • Verify proper item and quantity of product pull customer order and maintain inventory.  Maintain inventory count accuracy and location integrity.
  • Responsible for delivery between facilities and to and from customer locations.  Plan daily routes to optimize time needed to deliver within customer receiving time frames.
  • Perform loading and unloading of materials.  Verify orders delivered and report discrepancies to manager.
  • Scan and replenish stock at customer locations and assist with movement or organization of inventory, if needed.
  • May assist customers at counter with placing orders and retrieving product.
  • Perform basic housekeeping in assigned areas.


  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience; Strong customer service/customer relationship skills, ability to identify customer needs required.  Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and processes; ability to complete mathematical measurements, weights and calculations; ability to communicate verbally and in writing required. Data entry and/or exp. with computerized inventory/business system preferred. 
  • Violation free driving record required and must be maintained to continue employment in this position.  Negative drug and alcohol screening on a routine and random basis must be maintained.
  • Ability to operate fork truck, hand truck and other material handling equipment may be required.  Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, reach, stoop, remain standing for extended periods of time and sit in an automobile for periods of time, required.  Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
