Primary Functions

Under general supervision, performs Central Distribution Center functions. Provides advanced support to Central Distribution Center Operations as assigned through safe and accurate receiving, stocking, order selecting, shipping and cycle counting. Verification of proper item and quantity of product, pull orders and maintain inventory and customer order/shipment records in Horizon Warehouse Management System utilizing Radio Frequency. Identify shipping methods, prepare shipping documentation, prepare/package items, load and unload trucks/carrier. Maintain inventory count accuracy and location integrity.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receipt and inspection of ordered product, ensuring product is free from damage, comparing items with freight bills and purchase orders for accurate receipt. Stocking received product in designated location, ensuring product is free from damage and stored safely. Replenishing selected product as requested, and directed by CDC Supervisor.
  • Selects product from zone, using Horizon’s WMS, ensuring product is free from damage, accurately selected according to RF system, communicating any identified damages/variance to the CDC Supervisor. Bin locating and transferring between stations. Building pallets of correctly selected products to be packed; ensuring pallets are neat and organized to minimize the risk of damaging product.
  • Packing product orders indicated by computerized system. Accurate separation of pulled product from totes and skids per system orders. Creating labels for shipment and accurate placement of product to be shipped via computerized instructions.
  • Operates equipment, Pallet Jack, Forklift, Cherry Picker, Walkie Ryder, Straddle, in accordance with facility and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.  Operates lift equipment in a safe and appropriate manner ensuring minimal damage to product, lift equipment, and storage racks. Report all malfunctions of high lift stacker/reach truck equipment to supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and processes; ability to complete simple mathematical measurements, weights and calculations; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Data entry and/or exp. with computerized inventory/business system preferred.
  • Ability to read handheld computer screen.
  • Ability to multi-task and react to a variety of situations at one time.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment such as fork truck, hand truck and other material handling equipment required.
  • Ability to gain and maintain required forklift certification and license.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs repeatedly, up to 100 lbs. with assistance, bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, twist and remain standing for extended periods of time. 
  • Ability to work in narrow spaces and at heights of up to 20-25 feet.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
