This opportunity is for the Industrial Product Division Sales Leader in New England and will lead the integration and expansion of our Industrial and Safety Product Sales Group. The Sales Manager, Industrial Products reports directly to the Sr. V.P. Industrial Product Division.
The Sales leader will develop, plan, manage and lead the sales growth and execution activities for Horizon’s Industrial Product Group, NH Bragg, throughout Horizon’s geography in the New England area.
Lead and manage a team of Outside Account Managers and Product Specialist in the execution of short and longer term sales plans and activities that result in increased market share. This position has overall responsibility and accountability for driving profitable sales growth specifically of the Industrial Product Group under the NH Bragg, Horizon Solutions Product Groups and the contribution of those functions to Horizon’s overall gross and net profit. Develop and lead the implementation of sales and program strategies in response to financial, technological and demographic trends; capitalize on market opportunities, minimize the effects of competitive activity and maximize HORIZON market penetration and profit margin.
Overall responsibility for the sales performance, contribution and ROI within the Industrial Product Group’s sales programs. Responsible for the management, implementation and growth of sales and corporate initiatives. Responsibility for the incorporation of partners into Horizon’s process and the coordination of sales program deliverables to Horizon customers.
Lead and manage the implementation of product and solution marketing initiatives and activities; provide optimum sales and profit results within assigned product groups and geography. Implement special programs/events that support overall marketing, strategies and initiatives.
Participate in multiple Business Unit’s Management Teams; provide leadership with the development, communication, and execution toward successful achievement of overall company vision, values, goals and initiatives.
Determine short and longer-range strategies and tactics and implement sales, project and program initiatives and programs consistent with Horizon Solutions objectives and goals with the objective of increased sales and profit.
Develop and implement sales strategies, project and program management tools, objectives, plans, forecasts and tracking systems to achieve maximum market penetration, ensure customer satisfaction and efficient and cost-effective staff and resource utilization within Horizon’s business goals, plans and systems within the Industrial Product outside sales team. Overall responsibility for the activities and results of the team.
Establish and maintain high level relationships with key strategic and/or large customers that ensure the delivery of mutually beneficial meaningful value through expertise in technical solutions, supply chain solutions and training and education within the Industrial Product business.
Develop and lead the implementation of sales and program strategies in response to financial, technological and demographic trends; capitalize on market opportunities, minimize the effects of competitive activity and maximize Horizon market penetration and profit margin.
Lead, manage and guide direct report sales staff to effect strategy implementation, monitor results and sales process utilization toward increased sales and profit. Coordinate, facilitate, monitor results with partner relationships that support and positively effect Horizon’s market penetration and long and short-term strategy.
Within areas of responsibility, lead and participate in the evaluation of processes, procedures, systems and programs that impact customer and employee satisfaction and retention. Recommend, design and/or assist with the implementation of changes that foster an environment of continuous improvement, increased effectiveness and increased customer satisfaction.
Responsible for leadership and development of staff through effective use of staffing plans, recruitment, training, evaluation and continuous development of Horizon assigned staff. Effectively address needs for corrective action and assist employees in achieving career success.
As a member of the sales management teams, participate in the implementation of Company and local strategic plans, initiatives and goals; responsible for communication, implementation leadership and the development of group and individual goals that support the Company vision, strategic plans, initiatives and goals.
BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering, Project Management, and/or Business Administration/Mgmt. or combination of education and experience is required; MBA preferred. Strong sales leadership and management and business development skills required. Previous experience in a distribution sales management role preferred.
Previous experience managing sales professionals in a high growth environment and business group leadership and management experience preferred. Track record of increased sales and profit in previous positions required.
Incumbents must have and maintain an in-depth knowledge relating to the products and product applications/solutions assigned; product availability, channels to market, competitive products and competitors with assigned product groups. Knowledge of purchasing methods and systems, contracts, systems contracts, integrated supply strategies and sourcing/complementary products sales strategies for assigned product required.
This position will require overnight travel and requires that the incumbent maintain a valid driver’s license.
