Proactively pursue and develop opportunities to quote and provide value engineering for Electrical Products and Services with the objective of increased sales, gross and net profit.
Understand and coordinate customer, vendor and Horizon’s needs and resources to competitively quote and sell technical solutions that maximize Horizon product offerings, services and technical support services and provide added value to customers.
The Inside Sales Representative will manage customer relationships directly with product specification and selection, establish and negotiate customer pricing and product availability.
In partnership with other Horizon resources, clarify, research and resolve and/or coordinate resolution of customer order changes and inquiries, complaints and problems; shipment status inquiries and changes, customer and vendor returns/repairs and order expediting.
Implement sales and marketing plans, coordinate and implement the inside/telephone sales and marketing efforts for Electrical products with the objective of increased sales, gross and net profit and exceptional customer service.
Via written and/or verbal customer consultation; Identify customer needs and Horizon product specifications, services and solutions. Make technical recommendations appropriate to design specifications and insuring product compatibility with customer’s proposed application.
Proactively identify opportunities for quote of Electrical products and solutions from specifications and job plans. Develop bill of material and create competitive quote that maximizes Horizon products and profit.
Consult with customers and/or Horizon resources to assist in the development of the bill of material, provide value engineering services and quote alternatives. Actively participate in the sales process, negotiations and close of sales.
Assist in the identification of opportunities for quote in the marketplace; provide value engineering, create bill of material and negotiate exclusive Horizon pricing for quotes.
Proactively monitor customer commitments, requirements and schedules. Anticipate and resolve and/or coordinate resolution of potential conflicts of customer requirements versus Horizon performance.
Communicate potential problems and changes with customers; proactively identify and resolve problems effecting customer satisfaction and/or Horizon profit.
Establish and maintain a highly responsive relationship with internal and external customers, vendors, supplies and a variety of other Horizon business related personnel.
Negotiate product availability, pricing and terms with vendors to meet customer requirements and maximize Horizon profit.
Determine and set pricing considering order volume, total customer relationship and external competitive climate.
Prepares and submits quotes, following through to close of sale with customer. This may include renegotiations with customers and/or vendors to ensure business close, Horizon profitability and continued long-term relationship with customer.
Process orders within Horizon Business Systems, provide customer confirmation of status and monitor vendor commitments for compliance.
Monitor customer commitments, communicate potential problems and changes with customers; proactively identify and resolve problems effecting customer satisfaction and/or Horizon profit.
Provide regular and continuous communication with Outside Sales, Credit, Customer Service and Delivery personnel to ensure the coordination of Horizon support services and identify potential future sales opportunities.
Monitor sales and vendor activity to maximize asset turns and meet customer needs.
Monitor operating unit sales and gross profit in relation to sales and marketing plans and budgets, forecasts, marketing programs and specific initiatives. Assist in the development and revision of marketing plans and initiatives that address market and customer needs and proactively converge upon opportunities in the market to meet Operating and Company goals.
Associates degree or equivalent education in a technical discipline is preferred. In depth Knowledge of features, benefits and use/application of broad range of Horizon Electrical products. Knowledge and/or experience in the direct telephone customer selling process and techniques; including the ability to close sales. Ability to determine and negotiate product cost and customer pricing. Strong communication, negotiation and teamwork skills; ability to work independently and prioritize tasks; strong attention to detail and analytical ability required.
Problem solving skills and strong organization skills and experience preferred. High volume, high accuracy data entry experience preferred. Ability to communicate instructions, recommendations, negotiate and provide instructions verbally and in writing. Ability to decipher verbal information and instructions in person, via telephone and electronic media. Ability to communicate information in-person, via telephone and electronic media. Ability to use a wide variety of office equipment, word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to use business system software to retrieve and update information.
Technical knowledge of Horizon products and product applications; product design, installation and maintenance within assigned sales product area preferred.
